Crafted entirely in 14K yellow gold, this beautiful "Face of Jesus" medal is fashioned with a matte-finished center that features an image of Christ's face against a sunburst background; on His head rests a crown of thorns. The outer border has a polished finish. Available in 1", 7/8", 3/4", 5/8", and 1/2" sizes. The medal reads, "Jesus have mercy on us", an abbreviation of the publican's prayer (Luke 18:10-14). The Crown of Thorns on Jesus head refers to the scene after Jesus' trial when the Roman soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus Head, dressed him in a scarlet robe, as if he were a king, mocked him, and beat him (John 19:2)
